Dr. Gail Krantzberg

Dr. Gail Krantzberg – one of North America's foremost experts on the Great Lakes ecosystem and environmental sustainability – joined the University in 2005 from the Great Lakes Regional Office of the International Joint Commission (IJC) where she had been director since 2001.
Prior to joining the IJC, Dr. Krantzberg held positions with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment as an ecotoxicologist, sediment specialist and senior policy advisor on Great Lakes priorities. She also previously served on the IJC's Great Lakes Water Quality Board, Sediment Priority Action Committee, Annex 2 Task Force, Indicator Implementation Task Force and Council of Great Lakes Research Managers. Dr. Krantzberg is on the Board of Directors of several leading binational Great Lakes institutions.
Dr. Krantzberg received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in the field of ecotoxicology and a B.Sc. from McGill University . She has authored more than 100 scientific and policy articles on issues pertaining to ecosystem quality.
