McMaster School for Engineering Practice


The goal of the program is to provide its participants with the knowledge and skills required to be a leader in a technically oriented organization. The program will significantly enhance the leadership and management skills, as well as the technical expertise of its participants. Strong emphasis on solving engineering problems from industrial practice is accomplished via industry originated projects.

Participants can focus on process design, on plant operation (operations analysis, monitoring, process control), or on plant computer & software systems through the appropriate selection of courses. The program employs a problem-solving approach to learning, thereby providing its participants with skills and knowledge to make them effective in an industrial environment.

Program provides advanced competencies for engineers and supervisors typically working in:

  • Process Design
  • Advanced Process Control
  • Plant Operations
  • Control Systems and Software
Upon completion of the program requirements, the students will receive a degree
Master of Engineering Design
in Process Systems Design and Operation
